“The Beverely Sisters will be preforming at York Theatre Royal in July”
Well, that’s according to a programme of local events which is displayed on a Tourist Information noticeboard which is located next to a layby on the A64 near Tadcaster.
Stopping motorists, and cyclists using the adjacent cycle track, will need to brave a nettle patch to get to the remarkably well preserved noticeboard. Part of it lists dozens of upcomng events and cncerts.
These include the Beverely Sisters and Dionne Warwick.
Closer examination reveals that the board hasn’t been updated since 1992!
Several events do appear to have stood the test of time. These include Race meetings, evening shopping and the Christmas Fair.
We feel sorry for anyone who is waiting for any of the buses which are advertised on the timetable
NB Dionne Warwick has a concert scheduled for Westcliffe on Sea later today.
